It is one of the most age-old ways of material mold, but used today as well. Metal Casting is the process of pouring melted metal into a shell, that is a hollow mold which products want be create. When the metal solidifies, the mold is  broken.

Metal casting products touches every facet of human life, from a small bolt to the airplane components. Though the casting is further split into different types like die casting,sand casting, Investment Casting, plaster mold casting, etc., but the basic processes remain the same

Metal Casting Mould Types:

Investment Casting: wax is used for mould. The melted metal will take the place of wax whe the metal be proued.The advantage is that complex products could be created with a excellent surface finish but it's expensive and slow,  so it's usually limited to produce small products.

Sand Casting: the simplest casting. Sand is glued over a sample product then separated. Then melted metal be poured in,wait it solidified. At last, the mould is broken. It is economical, because the sand can be reused.almost any size product can be made and fast. but it is limited to relatively Simple shapes..

Foam Casting: very much like investment casting (lost wax investment casting). The foam disappears when the melted metal is poured. the process is simple. This simplification makes a faster producing time, but quality not best. The setup cost is very high, but the foam allow easly be make a complexity shape.

Plaster Casting: plaster is used replace of sand. this process limits the metals with a very low melting point for example zinc,copper,lead .

Die Casting: uses a permanent mould created from metal. Molten material is poured into the die, commonly under some pressure, to manufacture small and high quality surface finish products. The process is usually used on high-production speed products, but is very costly.
